How a Passion for Botanical Illustration Became a Free Global Resource

1 min read

ConnFlorist began as a personal project — a small collection of botanical illustrations created by a designer who loved both flowers and vector art and could not find the kind of high-quality, freely available botanical graphics they needed for their own work. Rather than keep those illustrations to themselves, they published them online. The response from the design and florist community was immediate and enthusiastic, and ConnFlorist grew from there.

Today our library contains hundreds of individual botanical illustrations covering a wide range of subjects, styles, and applications. Our small team of illustrators and botanical enthusiasts continues to grow the collection steadily, driven by a genuine love of the subject matter and a desire to create resources that are genuinely useful to the creative community.

We are particularly passionate about the intersection of scientific accuracy and aesthetic beauty in botanical illustration. The best botanical art is not merely decorative — it captures the structure, character, and personality of a plant with precision and elegance. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, whether we are illustrating a simple daisy or a complex multi-petalled garden rose with all its layers and nuance.

ConnFlorist is free to use for personal and most commercial projects. We believe in open access to quality creative resources, and we are proud to support designers, florists, educators, and creatives of all kinds with illustrations they can rely on. Welcome to our archive — we hope you find exactly what you are looking for.
